About our services and treatments
What is it?
Remedial massage helps with both small muscle injuries as well as chronic problems. It is an excellent way to deal with a whiplash, sports injury, postural misalignment, treating spasms as well as muscle tension. Focusing on releasing specific chronic muscle tension as well as the muscular knots, or adhesions.
Does it Hurt?
The pressure used should not be unbearably painful, but should walk a fine line between a pleasurable release of tension and a pain-blocking response from the body tensing up. At certain points during the massage, most people find there is usually some discomfort and pain, usually around the attachments, knots/adhesions or when performing a release. At TM, we work with a 7/10 pain level - during a remedial massage the therapist will communicate with you in regards to pressure and techniques used. You should aways feel free to speak up and any point during treatment.
How can it help?
Remedial Massage Therapy can help you with tension headaches, back and neck pain, muscle tightness and muscle imbalances, as remedial therapy relieves muscle restrictions, tightness, stiffness and spasm which may limit full movement. It encourages better muscle activity through increased movement of nutrients and removal of waste products.
TM SIGNATURE FULL BODY RELEASE
WHAT IS IT?
This treatment has been formulated over years of practice by founder Tiffani Mckenna. The Full Body Release treats the entire body and has many benefits. This treatment will increase blood circulation, easing the tension in the body’s muscles and improving the muscles’ flexibility. It stimulates the skin as well as the nervous system to soothe the nerves, reducing both emotional and physical stress. Also increasing the flow of oxygen in the blood, releasing toxins from the body’s muscles flushing the lactic acids, uric acids, and other type of metabolic wastes out of the body tissues. Mostly consisting of long flowing strokes, you leave feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and relaxed.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage helps to maintain your muscles in the best possible state of nutrition, flexibility and vitality, speeding up muscle recovery after activity or injury. The deep massage work, trigger point therapy and myofascial release techniques can separate fascial fibres, and prevent the formation of adhesions. It also helps in the reduction of inflammation and oedema in joints and soft tissue following injury.
The lymph system picks up fluids and waste products from the spaces between the cells and then filters and cleans them.
When the lymph system works well, we feel healthy and have a strong defence against illness. When it’s sluggish or blocked we can have swelling, feel tired, and be more susceptible to colds and infections.
Though lymph vessels are found throughout the body, most of them—about 70 percent—are located just below the skin.
The Lymph system can be stimulated by correct massage techniques to work more efficiently and help it move the lymph fluids back to the heart.
